Our 'Getting started with Stata' course provides a complete introduction to Stata and is ideal for the new or beginner level user who wants to have a head start and learn how to use Stata efficiently.
The course introduces Stata’s most popular and useful commands and procedures to import, manipulate, transform and manage data as well as how to export results to commonly used file formats. Stata do-files, log files and also graphics are covered briefly in the final session.
This is a web based training course, which is delivered and offers the same content as our public attendance classroom courses, with more convenience and without the travelling costs. Our web based courses are interactive but you attend at from a location of your choice, whether it is your home, office or remote location.

The course provides a comprehensive introduction to Stata, the powerful, sophisticated and constantly evolving statistical software. Taking a “learning-by-doing” approach, we aim to turn novice users into confident ones employing plenty of examples and a constant stream of challenging exercises. Given Stata’s scope -- there are thousands of available commands -- the course concentrates on understanding basic syntax and deciphering Stata’s extensive and coherent (yet underrated) help files and documentation.
Participants leave with the know-how and courage to independently solve their own statistical puzzles.
The course is intentionally flexible. The agenda emerges dynamically and depends on the group’s prior background and knowledge of Stata. By the end of the course, all participants will feel comfortable undertaking the following tasks:
